Coaching is a professional relationship between the coach and the client that is designed to facilitate the creation and development of personal goals, and to allow the coach and client to work together achieve those goals.
Coaching does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorders as defined by the American Psychiatric Association.
Coaching is not a substitute for counseling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, mental health care or substance abuse treatment. It is not intended to take the place of professional counseling or medical or psychological care, and should not be used in place of, or as a substitute for, professional diagnosis and treatment.
Coaching is not a substitute for professional advice by legal, medical, mental health, financial, business, spiritual, or other qualified professionals. The client is exclusively responsible for all decisions in all areas of the client’s life; the client’s decisions and actions are the client’s sole responsibility.
The client is entirely responsible for the client’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being during the coaching sessions, including the client’s choices and decisions.
